Liberal leadership hopeful Ken Dryden says Quebec motion should be shelved

MONTREAL (CP) - Liberal leadership hopeful Ken Dryden says his party should set aside its resolution recognizing Quebec as a nation.

While he didn't offer any concrete measures to address the constitutional question, the former Liberal cabinet minister said Tuesday his party should focus on the future and not the past. Perceived leadership front-runner Michael Ignatieff has said Quebec is a nation and the party will debate a motion on the definition when it meets to choose a new leader next week. Ignatieff's position and the motion have sparked widespread debate.
